Mamma Mia! Omaha Theatre reviews
Had Potential
Overall the show was fine. However, i was a little bit disappointed with the acting portion and felt that only about 3 of the cast could sing. Donna was phenomenal. Tanya was great as well. Sophie was very good as a singer, acting was okay. Sky was horrible singer and i was really bummed about sam carmichael. I'm guessing the understudy was the one who played him when i went and he was too young. His voice did not have the mature quality expected of Sam's age and character. when he said he had two sons i laughed because he looked no older than 25. Bill and Harry characters were good, singing could use some work. Overall it was fine. I laughed and i was entertained. i had amazing seats so that made it much nicer. The biggest hiccup was the acting. Though broadway is more exaggerated than normal acting, this was so much more exaggerated than normal and overdone. It was hard for me to watch some scenes got really annoying. I watch broadway plays all the time so i'm used to the exaggerated movements and acting but this was too much.
